People will be out of their seats and moving. Ties may get loosened and sleeves rolled up. But don’t worry, this isn’t a Crossfit workout! Our programs are low-intensity. It can be done in professional dress, but you may want to let people know that they will be moving a moderate amount. We have experience accommodating for a variety of abilities and appreciate a heads up about any specific needs that your group may have.
Skill toys are a category of simple, unplugged objects that with practice, people can balance, spin, toss, and master amazing tricks. Some of the skill toys we use include spinning plate, yoyo, flower sticks, and kendama. Juggling balls are skill toys, too. But they get their own workshop because of the several progressive steps needed to keep three in the air.
We recommend that program organizers think about including a set of juggling balls for each participant or a set of skill toys to keep in a common area at work so that participants can continue to practice the skills learned. It’s a tangible reminder to take mental and physical breaks during the workday and provides a playful way for colleagues to continue to connect after the event is over. We can facilitate the skill toy selection process and with enough lead time can even get juggling balls branded with your company or event logo.
Some participants will surprise both you and themselves by learning in just one session! Regardless of whether a person can actually keep a juggling pattern going, everyone improves throughout the session. More importantly, they leave knowing that if they chose to put more time and energy into practicing, they could learn to juggle. That mindset shift of taking something we might have thought “impossible” and making it accessible is at the core of all of our programs whether it’s juggling, spinning a plate, or twisting a balloon.
We start teaching a new skill and allow participants to practice that skill individually. Although that may not sound very team-focused, it’s amazing how much people connect when they are learning a new skill alongside one another. The playful atmosphere we create allows them to let down their guard and laugh with each other. And they get to see each other in a whole new way. After a period of practicing, participants work through a team challenge that requires them to apply their new talents toward a collective goal. Throughout both the individual and team components, we connect to the selected theme, have participants reflect on their experience, and apply what they’ve learned to their day to day.
You bet. Contact us and let us know the theme. We love being creative and developing new variations on our programs to help you meet your objectives for the event.
We regularly book events 6-18 months in advance. If you have a particular date in mind, the sooner, the better to secure the date. That said, if you need a workshop in the next week or two, contact us. If we have the date available, we’ll be there to save the day!
The cost will vary depending on the number of people, the program selected, length of time, time of year, travel costs, etc. Team building workshop and keynote rates start at $2500. Let us know more about the event by completing the contact us form or giving us a call and we will get a more detailed estimate quickly.
Yes. We make things easy and come to you. We’ve worked in a variety of office settings, off-site venues, and conference centers. Although we can do some of our activities outside, indoor spaces are more predictable (participants won’t be happy if it’s hot, rainy, etc.) and more conducive to the learning and reflection parts of our programs.
Our offices are located in Wake Forest, NC (where the college used to be). We are close to Raleigh and Durham, travel nationally, and have worked in almost every state. We have a few more to go - Oregon and New Mexico, we’re looking at you!
Ideal group size for team building workshops is 20-30 people. However, we can comfortably handle groups up to 75. Energizers and play stations are customized to your event and can accommodate anywhere from a few to a few hundred as space allows.
It depends on which program you select:
As you can see, there’s flexibility for each depending on the needs of your particular event. We have a quick and easy set up and break down that can be done in less than 30 minutes.
